Happy Hour Television Set
Beverly Hills, California
This project provided us the opportunity to tap into the vast resources of Los Angeles’ entertainment industry. The producers of a late night talk show asked us to collaborate on the set design for their new show called Happy Hour. The central focus of the set is a doubly curved bar. The form of the bar meets the show’s need of seating for background extras as well as intimate one-on-one celebrity interviews with the show’s host. The bar’s white shell is trimmed at the seating areas to reveal glowing, red interiors. These areas of the bar accommodate the bodies of the people gathering around it and appear on camera as luminous, soft and mysteriously deep.
