Embedded City investigates the role of urban infrastructure as part of an inevitable future of living-with-water. Unlike retreat or protect modes of sea rise adaptation, this proposal leverages a speculative harnessing of the water cycle to produce an occupiable mega-structure on the sand beds beneath Miami Beach. As ocean currents and canals flow through the city, rainwater filters through wetland basins and irrigation, living-within-water presents a resiliency and daily experience in tune with aquatic rhythms.
